Well, it works fine in my game. The only big trouble is, that when I play a sim which has this (beautiful) hair, the Sims 3 automatically shuts down.
It happened 3 times, than I played a family without your hair and it worked fine.
I don't know if that was the problem that is solved... I still have to download the new version so..
@sugarpie: That's with most of the hairs, the hair looks more brighter than it actually is. It's not because the download is 'wrong', it's how it used to be.;)

You built your folders in the wrong place. The new folders have to be created in the C drive, not in the My Documents section like they had to be with Sims 2.

I have tried my best to reduce this occurrence, but unfortunately, no hairstyle can be completely perfect for every head shape. "

Ok, i got another problem. The hair does not show up in the game! When i'm in creating a sim, and i try to find the hair, it's not there. Nowhere. Note that i have installed many other packages, patterns and game mods, and they work fine, and i have the resource.cfg where it sould be and the mods/packages folders in the right place. I know english isn't your first language and normally you are wonderful at making yourself understood, but I'm thinking some of the confusion is coming from a few words in your original posts:
"We're happy that the problem of some players will pop up when the hair is used in game has been RESLOVED after being tested by some players and us. Until now it works normally. We're very sorry for the problem.
Please RE-DOWNLOAD THE HAIR and RECOVER the former one."
First word should be "Resolved" and I'm guessing the second would be "Replace".
Also, I know it's covered in this thread, but I think perhaps you should mention in the download description that the hair replaces the "Mohawk" hair style. Some of us love and actually use that style for our punk rockers and it was a little disappointing to see our hard-core rockers walking around looking like girly-girls! (hehe)
Anyway... I wanted to say congratulations for being the hair pioneer and coming up with the first custom hair for Sims 3. Seriously, you should consider a job with EA. You do wonderful work. I can only imagine what you could do if you had access to their tools!
I'm still kicking myself for downloading the "long wavy hair" from the Sims Store. 100 points and it looks like crap. Feel free to replace THAT one!

I just want to make sure I understand. The hair will replace the mohawk hair, correct? Will you be able to make hair in the future that will not replace the original hair? I do have some rockers that need the mohawk hairstyle, kind of bummed, but I love this hair, hope you can make more for the game... acutally a beautiful curly hairsytle would be lovely. ;o)
Also, I downloaded your replacement skin, and face skin, and they are gorgeous... works beautifully in the game... especially the detailing on the face. I so miss Sims 2 skins... hopefully Sims 3 will catch up ;o)

im still having problems
ive been on so many different sites to try to help me with downloading this AMAZING hair
but it still isnt working
i MUST be doing something wrong
okay so im gonna go step by step what im doing
first:
i press download
then i save it to C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3 (which is my root)
second:
i made a folder named Mods
then i opened that up and..
third:
i made a folder named Packages
and saved it into there
C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Mods\Packages
so far i think im doing it right no?
but one thing i really still dont understand is the Resource.cfg thing
i also made a folder in my root sims name Resource.cfg
but what's that supposed to do?
and empty folder?
and another question i have
is when i download it and press save it saves as a ZIP file
is that okay

4.it starts loading.
5.it brings me to a link to open it
6.i double click the link that says package file
7.it goes to microsoft
so i tried the whole process again and i drag

and then i made a different file in whcih i called packages and dragged another step 5 into the file. An dthen i dragged the file i named packages into mydocuments/electronic arts/ the sims 3

you must have the resource.cfg in c/program files/electronic arts/the sims 3

As JWong stated you have to have your resource.cfg in your root file... dont put it in the packages file. So your resource.cfg will just be in your Sims 3 folder, don't go any further ...c/program files/electronic arts/the sims 3.
If you put your zip or rar file into the packages folder you need to unzip it and take the cfg file and place it in your sims 3 folder in the root directory; c/program files/electronic arts/the sims 3.
The hair is extracted (is your package file) into the packages folder you made; c/program files/electronic arts/the sims 3/mods/packages
I think what is confusing people is they think they have to put the .cfg file in further than just the Sims 3 folder, just leave it in your Sims 3 folder, it will just hang out there ;o). Do not go through your My Documents folder, you must go into your C drive.

how to install custom content on Macintosh:
In Macintosh, the hierarchy is hidden within the Sims 3 application.
let me teach u to install custom content step by step:
- Right-click on The Sims 3.app.
- Choose "Show Package Content" from the contextual menu.
- Navigate through: Contents > Resources > transgaming > c_drive > Program Files > Electronic Arts > The Sims 3. You are now at "the Sims 3 root folder".
- Create a folder called Mods. (Attention: the caps 'M' and plural 's')
- Double-click on it to enter the folder.
- Create a folder inside Mods called Packages.
- Paste any .package files in this folder to install them to your game. (for example, put our new skin and hair .package files there so u can use them in game.)

u could find 'Electronic Arts\The Sims3' in 'Program Files' in one of these disks. There is the root folder.
X:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3 ('X' means the disk where sims3 root folder exists, it maybe C, D, E or others.)

well, i am afraid u didnt get the exact meaning of Resource.cfg. SaBaDa, The Resource.cfg is compressed in your 'download it and press save it saves as a ZIP file' file. U don't need to change it into the .CFG file, just leave it as the ZIP file. What u will need to do is to unzip it and take the cfg file and place it in your C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3(just in 'The Sims', paralleled with other folders in 'The Sims',such as 'Mods').
then take the .package file in the extract files and place in into C:\Program Files\Electronic Arts\The Sims 3\Mods\Packages.
thus all installation would be done.

For all users having problems, especially MAC users, make SURE you put the .cfg file in the ROOT folder.

You know you could just download Delphys Installer Monkey at modthesims, install it and then just double click the hair file and it will automatically install it where needed
Or you can manually go to C drive (that's right place if you just installed where game automatically wanted to install) -> Program Files-> Electronic Arts-> Sims 3 put resource.cfg file here Create folder Mods and in it another folder called Packages and then insert the hair file in that Packages folder. So at the end you should have your files in folder: C-> program Files-> Electronic Arts-> The Sims 3 -> Mods-> Packages. In Macintosh, the hierarchy is hidden within the Sims 3 application.
let me teach u to install custom content step by step:
Right-click on The Sims 3.app.
Choose "Show Package Content" from the contextual menu.
Navigate through: Contents > Resources > transgaming > c_drive > Program Files > Electronic Arts > The Sims 3. You are now at "the Sims 3 root folder".
Create a folder called Mods. (Attention: the captal 'M' and plural 's')
Double-click on it to enter the folder.
Create a folder inside Mods called Packages.
Paste any .package files in this folder to install them to your game. (for example, put our new skin and hair .package files there so u can use them in game.)
And, last but not least, dont forget to put the .cfg file in your room sims3 folder.

You know, all the sims are dressed up with cosmetics,like eyeshadows,lipsticks, eyelines and so on. And not all the cosmetics are created by ourselves,but come from an auther of another site. If we decide to upload a sim to our site and make it download-able,firstly we have to remove all the cosmetics that do not belong to us,which can only be shown in the preview picture,but can not be offered to peple without the real auther's permission.
But if we remove them,the sims will look eclipsed.They will never seem as charming as with the cosmetics.
That's why we decide not to make the sims download-able.And we hope you will understand.

Hi
I tried this hair, but, simmies with the mohawk that were already in the game got messed up when i played
and also with the new version. Anyway, i tried to play as this is kinda cute hair, but, in the end i had
to delete it from my folder as i got error code 12 and 13 and thumbnails started to be messed up..
Also i got numbers on the playingscreen and the game was starting to flash and be bugged, even in CAS.
I didn`t have that kinds of problems with sims3 before trying this hair and now as i don`t have it
installed in the game i get no error problems. I don`t know really what happened, but, if others have
similair problems then maybe this info might help. Thanks for some great sims stuff.

The hair isn't working for me =( I don't know what I'm doing wrong... I follow exactly to the instructions but the hair just doesn't replace the mohawk >.< help? I have vista if that helps...

Thanks very much for your answer. (I wrote you first a mail)I found the solution in this forum. I had it on the wrong path e: instead of c: Now it works fine and it looks just fantastic!!!
I can't wait for more and hopefully you will create also some male hair's as the game dosen't really has good hairs.
