please help!! Mac Trouble! Trouble, Mac, please, help

Hello, I have a mac and I have sims 3 on it. I have tried to download things from mod the sims, and yesterday i tired to download from peggyzone and It didn't work. I have stuffit for mac and I am pretty sure that it extracted everything. I put the resource thing in the main file and I made a mods folder with a packages folder inside of it and that is where i put the .package files and nothing will show up on the game. can someone please help me??
