Well, it works fine in my game. The only big trouble is, that when I play a sim which has this (beautiful) hair, the Sims 3 automatically shuts down.

I think there is no method to make a 'real new item' but not a 'replace default one' at present.I think we'll convert our sims2 hairs to sims3 when the sims3 tools improve

I don't see a problem replacing the game's defualt hairs. Some of them are really horrible.

Also, any chance you'll change the game's hair textures to yours?
