If you buy the Sims3 game pack, is it both PC and Mac compatible?

Yes. The Sims 3 has the Mac version ingrained, so you can use the one disk you have to install it on both a PC and a Mac, unlike with the Sims 2, where you had to get separate disks

not the best you've ever had, but you say I'm pretty close ...
